Maria Hernandez Park was Lit, Igniting a new age for the fire flow and juggling arts in New York🔥
Brooklyn’s Maria Hernandez Park was lit up with the fiery flames of Combustion NYC. Presented by The Floasis, a renowned school of fire arts, and supported by Flow Juggle, this free fire show dazzled audiences with an evening of breathtaking fire, enchanting dance, and awe-inspiring performance.
In the weeks leading up to the show, The Floasis presented Combustion NYC at the legendary House of Yes as a fundraising event. The objective of the fundraising was to fund the free event at Maria Hernandez Park.
The event was also supported by the FDNY, who attended and helped with the safety of it. All performers and safety team were license holders of a fire performer Certificate of Fitness (COF) by the FDNY, also known as a Certificate of Fitness E-29 or fire performer’s license.
During the show, Flow Juggle amazed the audience by juggling fire while hula hooping with a fire hoop and passing fire torches with Valentino. This event was the first of its kind and was a unique opportunity for audiences to witness the art of fire performance in a public park. Performances were curated by The Floasis, a Bushwick-based fire flow studio that encourages novice and expert fire enthusiasts alike, To incorporate their safety practices and promote a culture of safety among the fire performers community locally and globally. Plumes of feathery flames rose into the post-sunset sky like a phoenix reborn as dancer after dancer took the courtyard for only a few minutes at a time.
Combustion NYC was truly a one-of-a-kind event that brought fire and a dose of danger to Maria Hernandez Park.
